|DV8 – OPEN AUDITIONS 2009
FEMALE AND MALE DANCERS for
• Re-staging/tour of Strange Fish (late 2010 into 2011)
• New Work 2010 (R&D) then 2011/12 (making and touring)
FRIDAY 4th DECEMBER, 10am till 5pm
O.I.P DANCE CENTRE
190 Richmond St. E. Toronto Ontario M5A 1P1
For the first time in DV8’s history Lloyd Newson would like to rework one of his classic productions, Strange Fish. The work toured internationally to great acclaim in 1992 and was turned into a film for the BBC the following year, winning numerous awards. The work is an exploration into a woman’s search for friendship, love and faith, featuring an original score by Jocelyn Pook and Adrian Johnston.
New Work 2010/2012
A new work will be researched in 2010 and made late 2011 for touring in 2012. The work will be based on verbatim interviews. As the interviews will be conducted in English, applicants for this project should have a strong grasp of the English language and accents.
DV8 are performing To Be Straight With You at the NAC in Ottawa and at the Harbourfront Centre in Toronto, which I would recommend that dancers attend if they want to get a flavour of how the company works and the type of performer we are looking for.
DV8 Physical Theatre is an Equal Opportunities company.
(Please note all auditions start promptly at the advertised time and latecomers will not be admitted.)
