My coach and I had an interesting conversation today about dance teaching philosophy. (I have a GREAT coach! Very Happy )Here's how the conversation went. He, being the experienced professional, knows what I need to develop into a good dancer. I, on the other hand, have no idea what I need, but I know what I want so I can stay motivated and keep having fun. Unfortunately, the two don't always mesh. So where's the balance? Which is more important? Getting what you need as a student? Getting what you want? Is there a middle ground, or a way to do both?

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
